Acheneje sets to relaunch career with Kogi United

New Kogi United FC attacker, Thomas Acheneje is relishing the prospect of putting up impressive performance and scoring goals in the ongoing Nigeria National League, NNL, season  even as they seek promotion to Nigeria topflight division.

Acheneje who joined the club from Kaduna United at the start of the season said it would be a thing of joy to see his new side win promotion for the first time in history.

The former Kwara United striker disclosed that he opted for the Confluence side because  the club put the welfare of their players first before anything else and the zeal shown in their bid to gain promotion. 

 "I like what I have seen so far, " Acheneje said. 

 

"Kogi United is like a home to me because this is where I was born. 

"The management as well as the technical crew have been  amazing, working round the clock to ensure our promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League next season."

"I would love to pay them back by giving my hundred percent best and scoring goals" he concluded.

Kogi United defeated FRSC FC 1-0 in the matchday two of the new NNL season last Saturday.

The club would draw bye for this weekend as their next opponent, Giwa FC have been expelled from the league.
