Remo Stars lost to Lobi Stars in five goal thriller

Lobi Stars FC defeat visitors, Remo Stars in a dramatic five goal thriller at the Aper Aku Stadium in one of Match Day 29 fixtures in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The visitors had the first chance to go ahead after Ochowechi Salefu located Akeem Taiwo who was free, he made a run and send immediately to Mbaoma Victor but Agbaji Anthony cleared for the host.

Anthony Okpotu tried responding to the visitors early attempt, he sent in a cross but Osas Oknuoghae was quick enough to save the ball for a corner kick.

Just after that attempt, Anthony Okpotu put the host ahead from Ebube Duru's free kick and it goes for an easy tap in.

The visitors responded brilliantly through Chidume Victor with a stunner from a long range and Okemute Odah couldn't meet to save the goal.

Former Sunshine Stars' Kingsley Eduwo tried to do a Chidume Victor but his attempt met the woodwork and Adekunle Tunde reacts swiftly to save.

Anthony Okpotu missed a sitter with his head to take his team ahead again but he anxiously nodded wide.

Kingsley Eduwo gave the host the lead again with a shot from a superb pass from Anthony Okpotu and Adekunle Tunde didn't little to deny the goal.

Uchema Eze tried his best by making a run pass Edozie Ewelike, he sent a cross in and the referee adjourned that the ball met Osas Oknuoghae.

The referee, Victor Arinze pointed to the spot kick, Ezekiel Mba took it and Adekunle Tunde saved brilliantly to deny the host from extending the lead for the host.

Ekene Awazie equalised brilliantly to make it 2-2 between both sides with his head from Jamilu Coker's cross.

Adekunle Tunde was wonderful for the Sky Blue Stars denying Anthony Okpotu's free kick to maintain the scoreline and he saved Mba Ezekiel's chance again at second attempt.

Uchema Eze scored the third goal for the host in a five goal thriller after the visitors defence was left flat footed after Chidume Victor couldn't clear the ball at once.

The game ended in favour of the host, Lobi Stars FC and the defeat still leaves Remo Stars languishing in the 20th position of the league.
