A love of football has been a constant in Alhaji Sheriff Inuwah Ahlan's life, and a way to deal with challenges associated with the game is to give back in "cash and kind" to the game he so much loved.
The executive committee member of the Nigeria football federation is now using his passion for the game to become a good role model for other football administrators in the country,
According to the Kano state football association boss, Grassroots football teams are often founded on mutual love for the game; however, once a team starts playing on a regular basis there becomes the need for a ‘proper’ team management which unfortunately cannot be funded on enthusiasm alone and its very important to support the game by any means of adding value to it.
He said attracting sponsorship for the game can be one of the biggest headaches football is facing but with all hands put on desk then the story can change for good..
The apex predator in a chat with the number one football administrator in Kano state, decided to find out exactly what would motivate Alhaji Ahlan to sponsor a preseason tournament and other grassroots football competitions, and Alhaji Ahlan stated in clear terms that the prime motivation was based on community efforts rather than profit.
