Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has said his side are ready to battle other teams at the 4th edition of Gold Cup Pre-season Tournament which ill kick off on Friday, November 25th 2016 in Ijebu Ode.
The Olukoya Boys completed their preparations for the pre-season event on Thursday after claiming a big win over a non-league side in a friendly match played at the Pitch A inside the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ogun State.
Ilechukwu spoke about his teams readiness for the Gold Cup and stressed that his aim of participating is not to win the Cup but to discover players who can fortify his squad for the forthcoming 2016/17 NPFL season.
"We are prepared already as you can see we have been training very well, because we have a lot of young new players we want to look at in that tournament and also inject them to fortify our team.
“I don’t know how far we can go but the most important thing is not winning the tournament to me.
I want use the tournament to look at the new players ability and decision making and to see how fast they will jell with our players,” he told mountaintopfc.com.
Coach Fidelis and his wards will face fellow Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars FC of Akure in the second match of Day One of the tourney by 4pm tomorrow at the Pitch B of the International Stadium
