Tribunal Judgement: It Is Victory for Democracy, Kogi People - Governor Yahaya Bello



Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has hailed the judgement of the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja, which in a unanimous decision today, upheld his victory at the poll.

Kogi Guber Poll: Tribunal Admits Wada’s Expert Report, Dismisses APC, INEC’s Objection

The Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Friday dismissed objections by counsels to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello and ordered the defendants to proceed with their defense after counsel to the complainant, Idris Wada tendered a report by forensic experts which established irregularities in the Kogi gubernatorial poll.

It is no longer news that Kogi State has become a political laboratory in the country, since the unfortunate demise of the APC governorship candidate in the November 21, 2015 gubernatorial election, Prince Abubabar Audu. Things would have been normal in the state, but it has turned contrary to the expectation of people in the country, no thanks, to the Independent National Electoral Commission and its returning officer in the election, Professor Emmanuel Kucha; John Odigie Oyegun led All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Attorney General of the Federation, Alhaji Abubakar Mallami.

The Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Lokoja yesterday granted six exparte motions to all petitioners seeking leave of the the Tribunal to grant order of relief to serve the governor -elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello through a substituted means, owing to the inability of court bailiffs to serve him.
