The New Media Journalists (NMJ) has joined the rest of the world to felicitate with FC Ifeanyi Ubah for winning the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Charity Cup at the Abuja National Stadium on Wednesday.
Ten man FC Ifeanyi Ubah defeated Enugu Rangers 4-3 on penalties after the game ended goalless at regulation time.
The Anambra Warriors fought gallantly and fully deserved NFF Charity Cup, a statement signed by the Spokesman of the NMJ, Adepoju Tobi Samuel said.
The statement noted that FC Ifeanyi Ubah fought really hard for the title because they had to fend off the challenge from reigning Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enugu Rangers, with a man down, an indicatiion of the hard work done by the club ahead of the 2017 campaign.
"We would like to commend FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Rangers for playing so well and eventually claiming the trophy in the game that took place on Wednesday in Abuja. The future is bright for both sides in the League, Federation Cup and Continental assignments."
"On behalf of the NMJ, I would like to use this opportunity to join the Nigerian football family in congratulating FC Ifeanyi Ubah for winning the Charity Cup.
"Your achievement will go a long way to re-energise Nigerian clubs who participate in the continental competitions in the year 2017.
The NMJ also hailed the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for organizing the event.
