The caucus under the leadership of Senator Mohammed Ohiare at a meeting held in Okene, resolved to adopt Sanusi based on his pedigree as a grassroots mobiliser and front runner for the actualisation of power shift to the zone.
According to the APC caucus, the commitment of Sanusi to the party at both state and zonal chapters as well as his concern for the welfare of the downtrodden in the zone had placed him tall amongst other aspirants from the central district.
Among those present at the adoption of Sanusi were party leaders and delegates from the five local government areas that constitute Kogi Central District, APC Zonal chairman, Mr Ibrahim Ahovi and Senator Salihu Otaru Ohize.
The forum appealed to other aspirants from the zone to accept the decision and support Sanusi to ensure the realisation of power shift to the zone in the forthcoming elections.
Responding to his adoption, Alhaji Sanusi said it was a call to service and assured that if given the governorship mandate, he would not only bring transformation to Ebira land but the entire Kogi State.
