LA Liga and CD Leganes identify with 2021 Jos Chillin’ Tourney


 

Jos Chillin’ Football tournament has been one of the leading youth football competitions in Nigeria for the past four years. And now, after a period of trying to get some global support, LaLiga Nigeria and CD Leganes will be part of this year’s edition.

The 2021 edition of the tournament will see LaLiga provide technical support as a LaLiga Fairplay Trophy will be given to the team that commits the least fouls and also providing some merchandise from during the Award night at the end of the tournament.

Also, Spanish side, CD Leganes agreed to be part of the tournament and support, as they will be providing some sporting kits for the kids, Leganés’ banner as well as other materials.

The tournament will be starting on the 27th of November and will span for a week. It will feature over 600 kids in both the U14 and U16 categories, as 20 football academies from all over the country including Plateau State will converge in the state capital to jostle for honors.

Helen Abutu, COO of Jos Chillin', said, “We’re very excited about this partnership and the opportunity to create platforms of recognition for young football players in Nigeria to develop to their full potential. More importantly is the fact that with this football support, we can contribute to building a better society for our youths.

SWAN Selected Vs ANFASSC: Organizers move game to Legacy Pitch


Organizers have made a change in plans for the highly publicised friendly between SWAN Selected and Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC).


The game which was billed to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena has been moved to Legacy Pitch on Tuesday 5th October after approval was given for its use by the football authorities.


The venue has been changed from Mobolaji Johnson Arena to Legacy Pitch because there are some works to be done on the turf ahead of the Falconets' game against Central African Republic (CAR) on 6th October.


General Manager of SWAN Selected, Andrew Randa told the Media, "the effect of the change has to do with the contractor having to carry out maintenance work on the Pitch for the Falconets game."



"The CAR side are scheduled to train on the pitch ahead of the game," he explained.


"The game will now be played at the Legacy Pitch in National Stadium. We regret the inconveniences," the well travelled media practisioner added.


Meanwhile, SWAN Selected players have started arriving in camp for the game with ANFASSC.


Star players Tobi Adepoju, Suleiman Pooja, Olawale Quadry, Charles Diya, Victor Modo and Olatoye Olawale were all smiling as they arrived for the epic game.


Coach Yemi Olanrenwaju is expected to supervise the team's training session on Monday.


SWAN Selected camp opens in Lagos ahead of ANFASSC clash


The SWAN Selected camp will open in Lagos, with almost all the players expected on Monday afternoon.


SWAN Selected have perfected plans to open camp on Sunday (today) ahead of their next assignment.


Earlier it was reported that all necessary logistics have been put in place for a fruitful assignment and eventual victory against Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC).


“On our part we are serious, quick and ready always. We expect nothing but a handsome victory and we know the team is up to it,” SWAN Selected head coach Yemi Olanrenwaju informed the Media.


Yema on his part says he expects that training will start on Monday morning depending on the arrival schedule of most players, adding that by their roster SWAN Selected will have a healthy training before the game.


“The team will be ready, healthy and all of our players are well for the battle against ANFASSC.


Team captain Fisayo Dairo and ace midfield Partner Andrew Randa both return to the squad having missed the last game against Super Eagles Supporters Clubs (SESC) in September.


The likes of Ajegena Richard and Busayo Olowokere are also expected to arrive on Monday morning from Abuja.


Also expected in camp are Tobi Adepoju, Aleshinloye Owolabi, Victor Modo, Sammy Adesoji, Mickie Chukwuebuka, Areo Samuel, Bamisebi Samuel, Tunde Liadi, Adebayo Charles, Bayo Adegboyega and Olawale Quadry.


Others are Shogo Shodunke, Damilola Alagbe, Wole Opatola, Shina Okeleji, Apostle Pikin, Sanipe Tonte, Sawadinho Benjamin, Adams Jesse, Olatoye Olawale, Eche Amos, Ferdinand Udoh, Suleiman Pooja, Henry Chijioke, Olawale Hamzat and Emmanuel Josiah.


The game between ANFASSC and SWAN Selected will take place on Tuesday 5th October at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium. Kickoff is 1pm.
