'Plan your present for a better future', Hon. Ekene Adams charges Nigerian players

Honourable Ekene Abubakar Adams has charged Super Eagles stars and their counterparts in the Nigerian domestic league to plan for life after their peak in football.

Honourable Adams, House of Representatives member on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State gave the charge during a dinner in his honour by All Stars Football Club, Yelwa, Kaduna State Chapter.

The All Stars Football Club, Yelwa, is made up of all ex-footballers (veterans) of the beautiful round leather game, that are resident in the state.

In his thought-provoking speech, Honourable Adams while showering praises on Super Eagles winger, Simon Moses and other VIPs at the event said: "I want to express my delight in the honour given me with this dinner by the leadership and members of All Stars Football Club, Yelwa.

"I have seen it all in football, as a former player, club manager/owner and now a lawmaker in the Green Chamber, so I feel pained when I see players who made a career out of the round leather game, living in poverty after they retire.

"Many of such players during their peak in football were ignorant, had unnecessary egos, didn't invest wisely, let alone give back to society. Not knowing that, when you give to society, it will accept you with open arms when you come back.

"A few kind hearted Super Eagles stars like Moses Simon to mention a few are giving back to their society and I want other Nigerian players to emulate him in this regard.

"My new status as member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, didn't come cheap, as I believed in it, struggled and worked hard to achieve it.

"Irrespective of that, my success is all geared towards giving back to society. I have not relented and will continue serving humanity as in the last one week I have done a project worth N120 million with collecting a kobo from the government.

"However, it's sad that despite all the efforts I have put over the years in trying to make football an envy for all in Kaduna State, I am being crucified for no just cause.

"Many of you who toll that line are just being naive and used as tools by politicians who have no positive agenda for the development of football in Kaduna let alone Nigeria.

"For the fact that we don't share the same football ideologies, those crucifying me forget I have made more impact in football viz-a-viz empowering our youths in and out of Kaduna with KADA City Football Club.

"Many of you (internationals) didn't know that I coughed out N9.6 million monthly to players and staff of KADA City.

"Without contributing anything to football development, they sit in their comfort zones trying to destroy the football ecosystem I have built in the state.

"For the game to reach it's highest pedals, we all must stop the blame game, throw away our different ideologies, and find common grounds to develop football in Kaduna and indeed Nigeria."

Bendel Insurance Deserves Huge Pampering after Breaking 43 Years Jinx

... Learning from Nyesom Wike, Kunle Soname, Orji Uzor Kalu, others

After a staggering 43-year trophy drought from a major silverware, the team defied all odds, coming from the second division and captivating fans, the team made history by lifting the oldest trophy in Nigeria football and clinching a  continental ticket.

Wednesday, 21st of June 2023, a glorious display of resilience and character from Bendel Insurance etched their names into the chronicles of Edo State's sporting history by clinching the Federation Cup.

It is evident that the unwavering support and visionary leadership of the state governments have played a pivotal role in the team's remarkable journey to glory.

Governor Godwin Obaseki and Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, true patrons of sports, have consistently demonstrated their deep commitment to restoring Edo State to where it once was as the Home of Sports. This mandate which led to the formation of the Edo Sports Commission has seen the development and success of the Benin Arsenals, which has now soared to unprecedented heights by claiming the Federation Cup in style.

Through the steadfast backing and relentless pursuit of excellence, the state government has not only transformed the fortunes of Bendel Insurance but has also breathed new life into the sporting landscape of the entire state.

While basking in the glory of this major achievement, this writer urges the state government to take a proactive stance in securing the future of our Bendel Insurance. It is crucial that the State Government recognize the indispensable role the players and coaching staff have played in our team's success.

As they continue to shine brightly, it is only natural that they attract lucrative offers from other clubs seeking to capitalize on their exceptional talents. To ensure that the club retain her invaluable assets and maintain the cohesive unit that has brought them this far, this writer strongly advocates for a handsome rewards system.

Winning a trophy of such magnitude warrants substantial rewards for the players and the dedicated backroom staff who have toiled tirelessly behind the scenes, after such a feat; this writer believes it is time to turn their words into actions and make the boys truly happy as the state governor can seek this opportunity to crest his name in history.

It is without a doubt that rewarding players and backroom staff handsomely has always enhanced players' performances for their teams, served as a means of having the stars of the club remain despite mouth-watering deals from other teams as they will be confident that their life is valued and that could only be the main tool to get more from them.

States to Emulate or Outdo

Sports enthusiasts around Nigeria will always remember the name of the former Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, the Working Governor, fondly referred to as Gburugburu of Rivers Land. His support for sports has catapulted Rivers United into the limelight not only in Nigeria but the continent where they got as far as the Quarter final of the CAF Confederations Cup.

No longer governor of the state, Wike's generosity to players ($20,000 each for making it to the continent as league winners) has left an indelible mark on the lives of the Rivers United team and their supporters, ensuring they will forever remember him as the man with the 'Capacity Doings.' It is a legacy that Governor Obaseki can aspire to exceed, elevating Bendel Insurance's place in Edo State's sporting landscape.

Most recently, Remo Stars owner, Hon. Kunle Soname (OFR) rewarded players, backroom staff, media team, and supporters club handsomely (#28 million) for securing a continental ticket after finishing as runners-up in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six, how much more a team that renewed the hope of the state - winning two trophies back to back, setting 21-games unbeaten record, winning the FA Cup for the first time in 43 years and returning to the continent after 28 years - I believe in the capacity of the governor and his deputy governor.

Going memory lane, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is a man many around the world will remember for his generosity and rewards to players who gave the State glorious times. Only a few of them are of Abia State origin, but many of them have become Abia indigenes by rewards of Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu.

To truly reward the heroes of Bendel Insurance, some impactful gestures this writer will suggest is to grant each player and backroom staff member a plot of land within the state and have it named the "Bendel Insurance Estate" - have you thought of how big that will ink your name in the heart of millions? Think about it, your Excellency.

If this can't be done, these players should be handsomely rewarded financially for their feat - this is what many governors will be envious of and would have prayed to happen in their state. Your Excellency, if this is not done, heaven will not fall, but a lot would be left to say about a state that prides in success but fails to reward the actors

This act of appreciation would not only solidify their commitment to the team but also transform them into honorary indigenes of Edo State.

The prospect of owning a piece of Bendel Insurance Estate, a symbol of the team's legacy and a testament to their achievements, would resonate deeply with the players, their families, and the ardent supporters of Bendel Insurance. Such a gesture would undoubtedly inspire the Benin Arsenals to remain at the pinnacle of their prowess as they venture into the continental stage.

Celebrating Bendel Insurance goes beyond rewards and material tokens of appreciation. Their success signifies the unwavering spirit of Edo State, the tenacity and passion that have come to define them as the "Heartbeat of the Nation."

As Governor Obaseki continues to solidify his legacy as the "Wake and See Governor," it is imperative that he transcends words and demonstrates his commitment to Bendel Insurance. By rewarding their triumph with tangible and heartfelt gestures, he can engrave his name in the hearts of the players, their families, and the loyal supporters who have stood by their side through thick and thin.

The time is now for Governor Obaseki to shine the light on Bendel Insurance and ignite the flame of its continued success, as the "Heartbeat of the Nation" beats louder than ever before.

Kogi AGILE Project Committee commends SOCU, seeks partnership

Kogi State Project Coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, Dr. Abdulhakeem Bello has commended the Kogi State Coordinating and Operation Unit, SOCU, a Defunct of the state Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO) for a thorough job done with the Single Register.

Dr. Bello gave the commendation during a courtesy visit with his team to the office of the SOCU Coordinator in Lokoja.

The AGILE PC stressed that the Single Register which was done by YESSO has now become a veritable launch pad for effective and result-oriented empowerment programs with a robust database of poor, unemployed, and vulnerable persons in the state.

He introduced AGILE as a Federal Government World Bank-sponsored project geared to improve secondary education opportunities among girls in targeted areas in participating states.

Dr. Bello disclosed that the AGILE project proposes to use a comprehensive approach to address critical binding constraints adolescent girls face that limit their ability to complete secondary school, by using the school, family, and community platforms to empower adolescent girls.

This approach, he said, will consist of interventions aimed at keeping girls in schools and providing opportunities for them to acquire critical life skills thus empowering them to enroll, stay, and complete schooling.

Part of the ways of empowering adolescent girls through their parents is via the Conditional Cash Transfer which is targeted those in the transiting class of Primary 6 to Jss 1 and Jss 3 to SSS 1.

Dr. Bello further stressed that all this requires accurate data, carefully and transparently done by agencies with high reputations like that of YESSO - SOCU.

He however seeks partnerships as implementing partners to enable the AGILE project to succeed in the state.

In his response, the State Coordinator of SOCU, Dr. Noah Alilu welcomed the AGILE team to his office while lauding the initiative.

According to him, the reward for their hard work is when they see bodies coming to access their database to reach out to the poor, as poverty he said was real at the grassroots.

He assured that their database which has now become a national reference base will be made available when needed with caution and on how to go about using those information.

Dr. Noah, who extolled the robust nature of the Single Register (SR) built by his office, said the World Bank and the Federal Government are very proud of Kogi SR so much that they have showcased it as a template to a delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo to understudy the process of building the Register for her social investment program.

Dr. Noah noted that several poor households within the state benefited from the Conditional Cash Transfer program of the previous government of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as a direct result of their socioeconomic conditions as captured in the Register while adding that several youths across the state benefited from the Public Warfare Component of YESSO and youths enrolled into the Skill for Job Development (S4J) of the project.

Dr. Noah assured AGILE of his office's cooperation and support in ensuring that the objectives of AGILE are achieved in the state.

Sunday Adetunji: Nigerian striker not finding life easy with FC Shkupi

Nigerian striker, Sunday Adetunji has disclosed he's not finding life easy with FC Shkupi in the Macedonian league.

The former Nigeria U23 forward joined the 2022 North Macedonia champions on August, 2021, after a successful campaign at Rivers United in Nigeria’s first-tier league.

Adetunji has featured in 62 matches in all competitions since joining the club in 2021 scoring 33 goals with 13 assists.

He emerged as the League's top scorer when he finished with 20 League goals in 2022 and was also the first FC Shkupi player to score in the three tiers of European competitions in the just concluded season.

Adetunji's representative Tobi Adepoju exclusively told nigeriafootball.ng that the former  Super Eagles B striker is considering leaving the club.

“Adetunji is not happy at FC Shkupi, and the situation is becoming unbearable. The management of the club are disrespecting him and they make the environment unconducive.

"It is unfortunate, his sacrifice and passion for the club are not appreciated enough and the club only consider what benefits them without considering the player’s interest and future.

“We have had extensive family discussions and we are scared of his health, his mental health has been over-stressed in the past weeks and he is not in a good condition. He is the only one in the country without his family.

"The management of the club has told him they don't care about his career. They don't care about his emotions, and feeling as a human. FC Shkupi just wants their interest to top his wishes and dreams,” Adepoju revealed.

Adetunji has played for notable Nigerian league clubs before moving abroad including Shooting Stars, Rivers United, Plateau United, Enyimba FC among others.

Father's Day Celebration: Philip 'Altar Boy' Shaibu Charges Nigerian Men On Diversification

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu Sunday joined the rest of the world in marking the 2023 Father’s Day in the house of the Lord as he admonishes Nigerian men to diversify.

Shaibu who served as Chief Mass Servant at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Benin City, urged fathers to explore every available legal means to make more money and adequately take care of their family.

He described a godly home as a home where the father can provide for the family - a phenomenon that will curb insurgency and kidnapping in the country.

According to him, the starting point of building a nation is by building homes and urged fathers to amplify things that will take care of the family.

"Fathers are not really appreciated as the mothers are appreciated which is just natural, but I think we should be respected more now. It's always important that we give ourselves respect and for me, respect should not begat respect, instead, respect cancels disrespect."

"Our country today is in dire need of role models and this time when things are not going well for us all due to the removal of the fuel subsidy which is having a toll on us all - as fathers, this is the time to think deeper, think out of the box and join our wives in praying as we go out hustling side by side."

"Palliative or no palliative, what's critical is contentment; if we can provide for our family the society will be more at peace. We need to diversify beyond our take-home - time to think outside our salaries, not to steal, but take advantage of technology to augment our living."

"My prayer is that God will continue to grant all we men the strength, knowledge and finance to take care of our family so that everything can be provided and that our children will not engage in social vices which may in the end bring unrest in the country."

"We assembled a team of consultants who have spent the last 48 hours accessing the school, particularly in the area of academics and sports, so that the combination is perfect and achieves a desired objective.

"We brought in from the world of football, probably the most successful coach in the history of Nigeria's domestic club football, Kadiri Ikhana (MON).

"From the world of arts and culture, film and entrepreneurship, we have the very best Africa, a cinematographer, and filmmaker, Dr. Tunde Kilani.

"We had one of the best and few experienced administrators of the combination of sports and academics at secondary schools level in Nigeria, Mr. Denis Owumi.

"A special consultant from the United Kingdom, Mrs. Toyin Adejumo, who has been working with us at the Segun Odegbami Int'l College & Sports Academy (SOCA)  brought her expertise in the area of education and developing a special methodology for the teaching of children who have challenges in learning to play, as we're aware of the fact that students who concentrate more on sports, encounter issues with their learning. So the management devising new methodology and is strategies in making sure our students become the best in terms of academics and sports."

A consultant on sports business illuminated that part where gifted students can go professional with their careers in America and Europe or any enterprise related to sports.

During the retreat, Mrs. Adejumo had two different sessions with the academic staff and teachers of the school on methodology for teaching students.

Ikana a former Enyimba of Aba coach, had a practical session with all coaches and technical staff, regarding a special coaching program and technique for students/athletes under the age of 17.

Recall, Owumi had a session with teaching and administrative staff, where he lectured on 'Combining Sports and Education to achieve measurable results...an effective curriculum'.

The program ended with an inspirational/vocational talk on "New Media, film and Photography by Dr. Tunde Kelani and a film show, titled Maami.

NWFL Super Six: Substitute Agoh inspires Delta Queens to dethrone Bayelsa Queens as champions

By Wale Mustapha

Bayelsa Queens' hopes of retaining the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) Super 6 title was dashed as Delta Queens fought back to win the coveted trophy.

Winner of the competition earned the whopping sum of Ten Million Naira and a ticket to the CAF Champions League. Runners up, Five Million Naira and third place went home with Three Million Naira.

In an open, pulsating clash, it was the homers who got their hands on silverware at Stephen Keshi Stadium - after a brave comeback on Sunday.

A second stanza brace from substitute Chinaza Agoh proved the difference following a first half own goal by Chisom Henry as the home team won 2-1.

Wife of the new Delta State governor Tobore Oborevwori observed the ceremonial pre-match kickoff in Asaba.

In a breathtaking start, defender Henry put the ball in her own net. Delta Queens had the chance to level up things on 44 minutes but central defender Fehintola Mabokanje missed from the penalty spot.

Delta showed their mettle with a fightback led by Agoh's equaliser seven minutes after the hour mark.

The energetic Agoh then turned up again with the winner in the 86th minute.

Meanwhile, in the third place match, Rivers Angels humbled Confluence Queens 2-0.

NWFL Super Six: Another positive scorecard of Delta State with excellent organization

Asaba, the capital of Delta State is agog with activities as the Nigeria Women Football League Super Six kicked off in style. The tournament, which is hosted by the Delta State Government was moved back to begin earlier than scheduled but the Government has proved to be equal to the task.

The bright look of the Stephen Keshi Stadium has been of interest to enthusiasts. The first step in getting this tournament organized was putting the facility in top shape.

Before the opening game of the tournament between Rivers Angels and FC Robo, it rained and kick-off was temporarily delayed.  Interestingly, after the downpour, the pitch became just good enough for football, glittering and water free.

The State's organization of the tournament has been amazing and the ladies are having a good time in Asaba, playing on a good surface and in a secure environment.

The organisers have also provided alternative training pitches for the different teams and this allows them to train without pressure on the main pitch. These pitches are the Model Technical Pitch, Master Care Group of Schools and the Scotch Court Pitch.

The Delta State Government have once again shown themselves to be worthy hosts and have sent a signal out that they are still ready to host even bigger fixtures, like national team games and tournaments, with this excellent organization of the NWFL Super Six.

Kwara United: The records, breakthroughs, prospects

By Jimoh Bashir

For Kwara United Football Club in the present dispensation, it's about records, memorable moments and positivity, in the face of multiple challenges. It is also about historical moments and remarkable feats, in a journey which was laced with interesting shows and intrigues.

It's all about results, performances and the quest for uplift, far and above existing records.

Performances in sports is relatively calculated on the premise of results and impacts, positively, especially in consonance with general anticipation and aspirations, irrespective of the internal and external forces pushed forward by environmental factors.

For Kwara United in the last four seasons, the fulfilment would be that of graduation from pessimism to optimism in virtually all aspects, because of the records already created, records already broken and the achievements, which arguably can be measured within a given period of time.

All these realizations defines the progresses made within the last four seasons, which is Kwara United's longest stretch of stay in the elite league since its venture into that circle in 1998.

The longest stretch of stay before now was after Kwara United gained promotion to the NPFL from one of its numerous sojourn in the NNL in 2008/2009 season. The team came first in the NNL then to return to the elite league, and stayed for three seasons, and got relegated again, alongside city rivals, Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club, in the 2012/2013 season.

Kwara United defeated Nasarawa United by a lone goal on Sunday May 7th, 2023, at the Akure Township Stadium, against all odds, and that result guaranteed that the team retains its Premier League status, making it four seasons consecutively, the first time the club would achieve this feat.

It is worthy of note that this feat was achieved despite playing an all-round away matches in the 2022/2023 NPFL Abridged League, considering the huge challenge of doing so, made it all important and worth celebrating. The pitch of the Main-Bowl of its traditional home, Kwara State Stadium Complex is being re-grassed. It’s a risk well taken, and sacrifices well made in achieving the unthinkable.

Kwara United, after preparations to participate in the Nigeria National League (NNL) in the 2019/2020 season, got elevated through Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's magnanimity, as he approved the taking over of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) space of the then Delta Force, after the Delta based team had played ten matches in the NPFL season.

The team however, had a rough season, but escaped relegation.

Kwara United, under the Chairmanship of Kumbi Titiloye ended the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons in the fourth positions on the log, and were, owing to acceptable arrangements as contained in the rule book, given a continental slot, as it campaigned in the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup competition, losing out at the preliminary stage to the then defending champions, RS Berkane of Morocco.

The team defeated the Moroccan side 3-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, and lost the return leg 2-0. They had earlier dusted AS Douanes of Niger Republic out of the competition clinically, after a three goal aggregate scores.

From the 2020/2021 seasons, especially on the backdrop of the experiences learnt from the 2019/2020 season, Kwara United rose to absolute greatness from the path of uncertainty.

Rose from playing with pessimism to playing with optimism, with hope and absolute flair, from playing without aspirations to playing with hope, and from just playing to playing with purposefulness and determination.

The team would have ended the 2020/2021 season in the second position, with 65 points, and plus 20 goals difference.

However, the outcome of the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at its meeting held on August 5th, 2021, as it concerns Matchday 34 fixture played on 21th July, 2021 at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna State, between Jigawa Golden Stars FC and Rivers United FC changed that narrative.

Rivers United FC had protested against the fielding of a player, Richard Christopher (Jersey number 8) by Jigawa Golden Stars FC in the match, on the grounds of ineligibility, having accumulated five (5) yellow cards during the season.

The NFF decision stated that Jigawa Golden Stars FC shall forfeit 3 points and 3 goals to Rivers United FC in respect of the match, for fielding an ineligible player in breach of C5 of the NPFL Rules.

The Appeal Committee of the NFF, few days later, adopted the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee, which therefore, placed Rivers United in the second position of the table, pushing Kwara United to the fourth position.

The club recorded remarkable successes in the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. Some of the achievements included ending the first round of the season on top of the table.

The team did not lose any match at home for three consecutive seasons, and this feat had been achieved by the club for a very long time. And for the first time in several seasons, they did not fight relegation, as was the feature before now, except for the ongoing season, for obvious reasons.

Kwara United FC were rated as one of the best playing teams, and were adjudged as a surprise package of the NPFL by the stakeholders, especially considering previous outings. Of the 20 NPFL teams for the 2020/21 NPFL season, Kwara United usually parades the youngest squads, with about 12 U-17 players registered for the NPFL in the period under review.

The successes recorded so far can also be traced to the unity and friendly atmosphere in and around the team, and this averted the curse that ‘each year had led from bad to worse’ which people see as a common aphorism.

The narratives have no doubt, changed, and can also be sustained with the arrangements on ground with the team.

For Kwara United FC under the current management, it’s been a campaign of purposefulness, laced with professionalism, which has brought a huge difference and a great departure from the past.

Just like every other season before now, objectives were drawn, targets set, aspirations kept, and hopes hinged on many variables, which importantly has to do with the caliber of players engaged, and the capacity of the technical bench.

The new found status has continued to bring more positive exploits for the team, especially as the management is expected to build on the positives recorded, while finding solution to the negative ones.

Also in the period under review, Kwara United have numerous of its players invited to the national teams, the U-17, U-20, U-23 and the home based Super Eagles.

The Club’s medical system was upgraded and ranks among the best so far, as players get rapid attention in cases of injuries or illnesses. The club also ranks among the best in observing Covid-19 protocols, as spelt out and adopted by the NFF and LMC. All these variables have strengthened its welfare system.

Going down memory lane, Kwara United first played in the CAF inter-club competition in 1999/2000 season, losing out in the quarter-finals to Zamalek of Egypt.

In 2006/2007 season, the club came first in Group A of an Abridged League, with 34 points, and ended up in third position after the Super Four played in Abuja. Ocean Boys won the Super Four, and joined second placed team to represent Nigeria in the Champions League, while Kwara United played in the Confederations Cup for coming third.

And 15 years after, the team was back in the continent after the 2021/2022 season, despite finishing fourth on the 2021/2022 NPFL table, just to beat the CAF registration deadline, as the Aiteo Cup was not concluded on time. The team gave good account of itself in the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

The last four seasons will also go down in history as the best in terms of cordial relationship among the various components of stakeholders, because of the professional way things were being done. The Supporters and Fans Club also worked together to complement the efforts of the management, players and officials.

For the first time in many years, that unity and togetherness was evidenced in the way Kwarans supported the team against Nasarawa United in the Matchday 17 of the ongoing season in Akure. The support was tremendous, not only because of the placement of the team on the table then, but to sustain the philosophy as enshrined by the founding fathers, and being sustained by the management.

The support of the Kwara State government is key and instrumental to the new found status of the team, which is arguably one of the symbols of unity for the state.

Before now, just like it was easy for the team to go on relegation, so was it easy to change management even at the slightest record of a single game loss. That obviously gave room for inconsistency in the club’s campaign in the league, as the so called aggrieved stakeholders always undermine support for the team getting good results even at home.

Apart from engaging tested players, the team also recruited more Kwara players, to compensate for the yearnings of Kwarans to have more indigenes in the team. This was also extended to the technical crew, as Coach Abdullahi Biffo was engaged to champion the cause of the team, spending three seasons in charge. Coach Abdulazeez Mohammed had a brief stay, before another Kwaran, Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo, who is a traditional Chief in Ilorin, the Mogaji of Odo-Okun took over.

These are part of the ingredients that have continued to add value to the team, and which, the management will never compromise.

The hopes and prospect of achieving more successes and also breaking new grounds are high. The very first major accomplishment that metamorphosed into the present characteristics known of the club has to do with investment in recruitments. Another very important factor that assisted the club’s cause was the prompt payment of salaries and allowances to the players and officials, even during Covid-19 period when there was no football action and the league was on break.

Indeed, for Kwara United, its a period of positive records and breakthroughs, as well as the period of great prospect, under Kumbi Titiloye, a Sports Promoter and Marketer. Kumbi is an excellent facilitator and solution provider, and a seasoned Administrator.

Under Titiloye, the rebuilding and rebranding processes of Kwara United Football Club is being geared towards meeting the required pedestal for business opportunities, away from the usual social services. It’s also coming at a time the government is desperately seeking to find alternative financial windows to push the club to the next level.

For his professionalism and transparency, Kwara United secured the partnership of Dickalo and 22Bet. These are partnerships that will obviously open more doors of possibilities and opportunities for the club soonest. Equally, a million dollar sponsorship arrangement is in the works with Reachat of USA, and will commence soonest.

The team lost out of this year's Federation Cup competition at the quarter-final stage, after losing by a lone goal to Plateau United FC. The team had earlier beaten Gateway FC (2-1), Ikorodu City (3-1) and Nasarawa United (1-0) before reaching that stage.

With the level of works done on the pitch of the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex so far, Fans, Supporters, stakeholders and lovers of the club are guaranteed of watching their team again, at home, at their traditional ground, and it will be part of the celebration of having the team retain its NPFL status, despite the multiple challenges, and a renewed target for the new season, with a renewed hope for the darling team of the state.
