AA AZTEC Football Academy storms Portugal for 30-Day scouting programme

 



AA AZTEC Football Academy's travelling contingent has arrived in Portugal for a 30-day scouting program.


The delegation made up of 10 players and three officials left the shores of Nigeria via a flight from the international wing of the Muritala Mohammad Airport on Tuesday for Lisbon. 


Prince Ademola Olawepo Shennowo, President of the fast-growing football academy gave an insight into the programme details. 



"The scouting program in Portugal is tagged Club Athlectico Trial and it will run for one month.


" Our technical coaching staff have selected the best for the programme after the 10 talents had undergone intense training to develop their football skills and prepare them for the highest level in games and tournaments against other top football academies in and out of Ibadan."



Prince Shennowo expressed his optimism as AA AZTEC Football Academy is poised to take grassroot football to the next level. 


"I'm confident the team will do well in the one-month programme in Portugal, as they have been in a close camp to be in the best shape.



"We want to take advantage of the numerous contacts from the Club Athlectico Trial so that our young talents can develop their skills, measure their level and see what they can offer within the high-performance professional competition."


AA AZTEC Football Academy, an Ibadan, Oyo State-based sports facility, has a fully integrated football program to help talented young players reach their full potential.

36 Lion prodigy, Yusuf Lawal joins Portuguese side from Baku

 


Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit, Futebol Clube de Arouca have announced the signing of Yusuf "Obagoal" Lawal from Azerbaijan side Neftchi Baku.


Despite currently sitting sixth in the table with 26 points and seem on the right path to playing in Europe next season, Arouca have reinforced with the multi dimensional player.


Hoping to continue the strong performances, Arouca have acquired the services of Obagoal for an undisclosed fee.


Lawal is a youth product of 36 Lion FC and gained the nickname Obagoal because of the similarity of his play to former Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins. 



Obagoal, 24, is a graduate of the 36 Lion youth sector, representing the team at U10, U13, U15, U17 and U19 levels, before leaving in August of 2017 to join KSC Lokeren.


He moved to Neftchi from KSC Lokeren on 16th July 2020. In Azerbaijan, the winger won the Premier League title on one occasion.
