"Simon Cletus will return to classroom after WAFU tournament" - Mavlon Boss reveals

President of Mavlon FC, Barrister Kenneth Agadagba has disclosed that captain of Nigeria U17 boys national team, Simon Cletus will not be rushed into moving abroad after his participation at the ongoing WAFU B Cup Championship in Ghana.

Bar. Agadagba said that the club is fully focused on the development of Cletus and other young talented footballers in their fold and the club is following that template.

He noted that the young player who is the captain of Golden Eaglets is still undergoing academic development and will be encouraged to complete the process.

"We at Mavlon are keenly interested in the development of our players. We are happy with the positive news coming from Cletus and his fellow Eaglets, but the essence is yet to be achieved.

"Cletus has been attracting interest from some top European clubs for almost a year now, especially after the Viarregio Cup in Italy this February. We are happy, but not in a hurry.

"He will go back to school in Lagos after WAFU B U17 tournament in Accra and our prayer is for the Golden Eaglets to excel at the tournament.

"There is no premiership club interest for him. These are mere speculations in the media. He is just 16 years old and no foreign football for him.

"We will continue to use our template for his development," he concluded.

Golden Eaglets will tackle Niger in the second game in the tournament this Sunday at 7pm Nigeria time. Cletus was voted the MVP in the goalless affair with Burkina Faso on Thursday.
