Acting FIFA President Issa Hayatou, who is also the president of CAF, has hailed Enyimba FC of Aba for winning the Glo Nigeria Professional Football League title for a record seventh time at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
The message was contained in a letter sent from FIFA to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and signed by the acting president of the world football governing body, Hayatou.
“It gives me great pleasure to send my heartfelt congratulations to Enyimba FC and their indomitable team on this great achievement,” the letter read.
“This title is the result of the determination of everyone involved and my congratulations go to the players, the coach, the entire technical and medical staff, and the fans.
“On behalf of the entire football family, I would like to thank Enyimba FC for helping to spread the positive message of football.”
Enyimba finished top of the NPFL table with 70 points after 38 matches suffering only 6 losses, won 19 matches (5 away wins) and kept 19 clean sheets..
