Mavlon's Sunday Oche claims Golden Boot award at Olea Cup

Sunday Oche, the lethal weapon of Mavlon FC has won the golden boot award after scoring six goals in Olea Cup tournament in Croatia, reports www.totorinews.com.

Oche, who has been described as the new 'Osimhen' due to his similar style of play with the Super Eagles striker, showed his class at Olea Cup when he scored two consecutive hat tricks to send strong messages to European clubs that another great goal poacher from Mavlon FC is around the corner waiting to embrace European club football.

It was not just his two hat tricks that endeared Oche to the organisers of Olea Cup and scouts from some top European clubs, but the manner in which the goals were sublimely dispatched into the net.

The striker at 16 years old, is very proficient with both legs as witnessed by the goals he scored in the tournament. He scored a spectacular bicycle- kick goal against GNK Dinamo.

He is also good aerially. He dribbles effortlessly to create space for himself to score and also create assist. He is endowed with skills, strength and speed needed to flourish as a striker.

The goalkeepers of FK DAC and GNK Dinano will never forget in a hurry the way Oche condemned them into picking balls from the net in the tournament.

Mavlon FC came third in the tournament. The team did not win the tournament, but one that is definitely sure is the fact that their young U17 players on display were delight to watch, from the goalkeeper to defenders, midfielders and attackers.

All these points to the fact that Mavlon FC is a bedrock of young talented footballers in Nigeria and the club will continue to discover and nurture talents in the round leather game.

Oche has shown great potential in Olea Cup in Croatia scoring six goals in the tournament and it will not be a surprise if some European clubs begin to jostle for his signature counting down to when he will clock 18 years.

Charles Agada inspires Mavlon to beat ATFA to secure Viareggio Cup semifinal berth

Football fans at the on- going Viareggio Cup in Italy were treated to a sublime football when Mavlon FC and Alex Transfiguration FC, two Nigerian teams met at the quarter - final clash.

Alex Transfiguration drew the first blood when Henry Madubuko converted from the spot in the 5th minute. The early goal deficit brought out the fighting spirit in search of an equaliser, which failed to come as both teams went into the break with Alex Transfiguration at an advantage.

However, it was a different ball game in the second half as the technical crew made some changes and the team more dominating against Alex Transfiguration, a team that comprised of players from some clubs that participated in the TCC league in Lagos, Nigeria.

In a nutshell, Mavlon indeed played against a team that can be likened to as consortion of players from about four teams in Lagos, but the strong winning mentality helped the team to claw back into the game through Inuwa in the 51st minute.

It became a balanced affair, but a winner must emerge within 90 minutes or straight to the penalties. It was a ding dong affair, an end to end attacking football from both sides.

But it was Mavlon that went into the lead 14 minutes later courtsey of Charles Agada, the captain of his side, who has now scored eight goals in the tournament.

Agada's goal proved the decider and paved the way for the team to play at the semi - final of the 2024 Viareggio Cup in Italy.

It is all African affairs as four Africans teams are in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Mavlon FC will engage Centre Nationale of Brazzaville, while Beyond Limits and Ojodu FC, two Nigerian teams will trade tackles in the other semi-final fixtures on Saturday .

Benjamin Ikwulono: A new football gem spring up at Mavlon FC

Mavlon FC will continue to be a hub of football talents in Nigeria, as the modest NLO side has discovered another rare football gem in 8 years old wonder- kid, Benjamin Ikwulono.

Watching him dazzling the ball in the midst of other footballers far older than him indicates his rich knowledge and skills in the round leather game.

He was discovered by Mavlon's chief scout, Raymond Hassan in Abuja, but due to the fact he is still very young, the management of Mavlon FC decided to register the kid with Derby Football Academy of Abuja for development of the young prodigy.

He is to be in Abuja where his parents reside and be undergoing his football development with Derby Academy, but whenever schools are on break, he comes to Lagos, to and join  his team Mavlon FC to continue to learn the Mavlon philosophy

It was part of his developmental process that made him feature for Mavlon Fc against AJ United in a friendly game that ended 10-0  in favour of his side on Saturday.

Now the cruz of the matter is not just the friendly game, but the confidence of an 8 years old playing among U-15 boys, the age gap is quite wide, but his footballing prowess outweighs his age.

It was a beauty to behold this diamond, scoring a goal and creating an assist after coming in as a second half substitute. His style of football  depicts speed, skills, and strength, very similar to  that of Kyalian Mbappe, the French football star, who plies his trade with PSG in the French Ligue 1.

Amazingly, the shouts of 'Mbappe' rings the air whenever the ball was in his possession during the friendly game. His calmness before scoring his goals and his visionary passing skills are all the hallmarks of a future football star.

It is hoped that the potential "Little Mbappe" has demonstrated will be developed and nurtured as his years roll by into teenage and adulthood.

Golden Eaglets duo of Charles Agada and Cletus Simon, Salim Fago, Flying Eagles striker and Israel Ayuma that both plies their trade with Istra 1961 of Croatia and Shedrack Kaye of Debrecen are some of the products of Mavlon Fc.
