NPFL: Salihu Optimistic Tornadoes Will not Carry Last in Warri

Captain of Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna, Mustapha Salihu has said that his side will come out of Warri with a positive result in match Day 5 of the NPFL.


Salihu said this as the team storm Warri to confront Seasiders at the Warri Township Stadium, Sunday.

He said that the team has gathered its momentum and at present was formidable to face any side in the league.

The Tornadoes goalkeeper who kept a clean sheet in their week 4 clash 2- 0 win against Nasarawa United in Lokoja added that they were in Warri for business and will play out there whole heart to come out with a win.

‘‘We are in Warri to play good football, and we are hopeful of collecting three maximum points, if we get a draw we will take, but our aim is to run away with the three maximum points’’, he said.

The captain commended their coaches as well as the support and moral booster that the management of the club has demonstrated on them, promising to reciprocate the gesture by getting good results.

Salihu said that playing home matches away from home was a difficult one because of the home support always jeered the team to put extra efforts.

He however commended the support they received in there last match against Nasarawa United in Lokoja.

‘‘Am happy with the support we got from football lovers of Lokoja who came and cheered us to victory, equally we thanked the members supporters club of Tornadoes for coming all they way from Minna to give us their own support’’, he said.

He said that at the moment the team has acclimatized to Lokoja environment and that playing in Lokoja will even make the team much stronger.
