The executive committee of the Club Owners
Association of Nigeria rose from its meeting in Abuja Tuesday night with a call
on the various state government (owners) and sponsors of premier league clubs in the country to give room for continuity in the management structure
of the premier league clubs in order to guarantee stability.
This call became necessary in view of the upcoming
transition from one government to the other in many states of
the Federation which own and fund premier League Clubs in Nigeria.
A statement by the club owners after its meeting
held at Prix Air hotel Wuse Abuja, which was jointly signed by the Acting
Chairman Barrister Isaac Danladi and the Acting Secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka,
urged the various club owners to allow continuity in the Clubs' management
structure even as the ongoing league is running smoothly without distractions.
The club owners stated that the incessant changes
in the management structure of Clubs had been attributed to the high level of
instability witnessed in the system in the past
years.
Meanwhile, the club owners emergency general
meeting would hold in Abuja next week to discuss vital issues as it
affects the current league season, top on the agenda would be the proposed
capacity building seminar for all the club chairmen and Managers holding in
South Africa soon, amongst other issues.
The Leadership of the Club owners had earlier
commended the level of fairness and smooth running of the on-going league
season which is presently at week six and appreciated all the stake holders for
their supports.
