Following their good start to the ongoing 22nd Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Sports Competition, Team Manager of defending champions, Customary Court of Appeal, Abdullahi Abubakar has expressed confidence that his team are on track to secure a back-to-back win.

The competition currently taking place in Lokoja, Kogi State capital has witnessed impressive performance from over 30 judiciary bodies with good results to show for it.

Speaking in Lokoja over the weekend, Abubakar, who admitted that defending the title they won in the last edition staged in Lafia, Nasarawa State won't be easy noted that his contingents are capable of any challenges to achieve their goals.

"Honestly I feel so delighted with the competition so far, we have been churning out good results and medals have started troop in for us, we thank God for that, but our aim is to win this edition and let everyone see that what we did in Lafia was not just a fluke," begins Abubakar.

"We knew the challenges ahead but we are ready to face them and make it happen, Kogi State has been an excellent hosting of this games, the turnout has been excellent as it has served as a springboard for Kogi State Judiciary in the area of sport and I hope it will be happy ending for us and everyone would have cause to remember this competition for good," he said.

The YSFON coach explained that the leadership of Customary Court of Appeal has been promoting the image of judiciary through sports with moral and financial support to the sports unit just as he charged the competition organizers, the National Sports Association for Judiciary, NASAJ to do more in the area of sensitization as it would assist in making the competition more acceptable in the subsequent editions.

"The bench of CCA has been encouraging sports development, making people have a meaningful life apart from being a judiciary official but to diversify to other things, and it has been helpful as a lot of us have benefited from this type of opportunity, for NASAJ, I would like them to improve in the area of promotion of the game, I know that major challenge has to do with funding as at when due, but if there's better sensitization about the competition, I believe that would draw attention towards whatever we do," Abubakar said.

The 22nd edition of the CJN Sports Competition have since begin last Friday and is expected to end on Thursday in Lokoja.
