Match Preview: Niger Tornadoes VS Enyimba Int'l

With four matches left in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Niger Tornadoes FC will host defending champions Enyimba International of Aba, at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium on Saturday.

Niger Tornadoes will continue its battle for survival in top flight football with the hope of sending the Aba Landlords back home empty handed.

The Abubakar Bala's wards must raise their game if they are to secure the three maximum points against an Enyimba side who believed their title chase is still intact.

Enyimba fresh from their 2-1 win over Wikki Tourists who are also title contenders in a  rescheduled match day 31 clash will also be hoping to nick the necessary points against the Ikon Allah boys.

The Minna-based side will be relying on goalkeeper Nobas Omoregie who may likely deputise for suspended first choice Mustapha Aliko. The likes of free-scoring Kunle Issa, Gabriel Wassa, Lukman Mohammed and Chinedu Nwanze are to wreck havoc on the Peoples' Elephants.

The Paul Aiybogun side will not be short of fire powers like mercurial captain, Chinedu Ujodi, Nzube Anaezemba, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Ifeanyi Onuigbo and Mfon Udoh to wrestle the maximum points from Tornadoes.

The reverse fixtures at the Umuahia Township Stadium on May 8 ended 2-1 in favour of Enyimba.

Speaking to Niger Tornadoes Media ahead of Saturday's clash, Niger Tornadoes utility player, Abiodun Adebayo said he was optimistic the Ikon Allah boys would garner the three maximum points at stake.

"The spirit in camp is high and the players have vowed to win the tie in order to ease the pressure on them and leave the relegation zone.
“We want to be on safety before the league ends; therefore we are pressing and training hard, I’m confident we will carry the day. We will send them back to Aba empty handed.
“We have the antidotes for big teams and we will do same to Enyimba."

Niger Tornadoes are 13th on the Log with 42 points from 32 games while Enyimba are placed 6th with 49 points from 31 games played with two outstanding games against Abia Warriors and Ikorodu United.
