Ikorodu United held by Go Round


Ikorodu United Fc played a 2-2 draw in match day 6 against Go-Round Fc in the Nigerian National League (NNL) 2016/2017.

Oga Boys made few changes to the team that lost to Gateway Fc on Wednesday with Michael Adenodi starting from the bench this time.

Go-Round opened the scoring in the 17th minutes through a well taken freekick. Ikorodu United defence could not clear their line. 

In the 31st minutes, Oga Boys were awarded a penalty after a Go-Round defender handled the ball in the box but Fatai Abduallahi's spot kick was saved to the dismay of the home fans.

Ikorodu United continue pressing for an equalizer in the first half but the half ended in Favour of the visitors Ikorodu United 0-1 Go-Round.

Just minutes into the restart of the second half, Rahmon Olarenwaju Curled in a free kick and with a struck of luck hit Jude Aneke's body to level the scores at 1-1 in the 47th minutes.

In the 55th minutes, Go-Round regained the lead from a close range finish after Richard Ochaeyi made a blonder of a shot to the part of unrushing Go-Round striker to make it 1-2.

At the last kick of the game, Jude Aneke made it 2-2 with his second goal of the day from a long ball into the Go-Round 18yard box and Jude took advantage of their error to level the score at 2-2.

Ikorodu United Fc has now played 6 matches without a win. The team leaves Lagos to owerri Monday morning to face Heartland Fc in match day 7 & Warri Wolves in match day 8 respectively.

Jude Aneke has now scored 3 goals in 3matches for Oga Boys.
