Ahmed Fresh: My primary duty is to develop football

At the 2017 FCT Principal Cup Final, where Fosla Academy played GSS Kabusa, Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh declared that it’s his duty to develop football in Nigeria.

The NFF Executive Member from Niger State has been awarded by different organizations, association and even trade union groups for his contribution to grassroots football development in Nigeria.

Fresh, speaking at yet another grassroots event at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja during the 2017 FCT Principal Cup Final asserted that as the chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, it’s now obligatory on him to develop football from the grassroots in Nigeria.

“It’s my duty to develop football, from any part or region in Nigeria. We must keep encouraging things like this, to take our football to the next level. It’s very important,” Fresh said.

Fresh also has a record for having an input in the development that discovered the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi and Bonaventure from the NFF U13 program seven years ago, an initiative that has matured into the above mentioned players playing football for some of the big European football clubs.

Having just been made Chairman of the one of the most demanding and sensitive Committee in the NFF, it’s left to be seen how many more talents Ahmed Yusuf Fresh can discover for Nigeria.
