Kano Pillars Beef up Squad with Olorunleke, Osanga, Henlong, 5 Others Signing

Kano Pillars FC have recruited eight new players during the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL mid-season transfer exercise while declaring eight players surplus to requirement.

The chairman of the club Alhaji Kabiru Baita said the management took the decision in order to fortify the team and face challenges ahead.

Baita stated this shortly after board meeting with technical crew in his office today (Monday).

Baita disclosed  that the club signed former junior international King Osanga from Warri Wolves.

He stressed that Sai Masu Gida recruited four players from Giwa FC which include Charles Helong, Chris Madaki, Amos Gyang and goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo.

Other new signings are Ifeanyi Nweke from Nasarawa United, Sani Emma Ambrose from Kaduna United and Rasaq Adegbite from Sunshine Stars.

He said government and people of Kano State are not happy with way things are going in the club and charged the technical crew and players to be focused on their duties.

The chairman said the call became necessary considering the fact that both players and technical crew were not owed single kobo by his board this season.

Talking about the players placed on transfer, the chairman said the decision was followed after the board received the mid-season report from the technical crew and find out that the affected players were performed below expectation and some on medical ground.

Baita commended the outgoing players for their contributions to the club and wish them best of luck and reminded the retained players and technical crew that anybody found wanting in his responsibility would not be spared.

The Pyramid City side were forced to a 2-2 draw by Warri Wolves in the Week NPFL encounter played last Sunday in Kano.

The Sai Masu Gida Boys are expected to leave Kano tomorrow to Lokoja for the round of 36 Federation Cup match against Prime FC on Wednesday.
