#NWPLFinalDay: Abdul Sule charges Confluence Queens to beat Pelican Stars


As part of their efforts to end the 2016/2017 Nigeria Women Premier League, NWPL season on a high Confluence Queens have promised total victory over their guests Pelican Stars of Calabar on Wednesday.

The two teams will tango at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja in one of the Group B fixtures to draw the curtain of an exciting Women league in the country.

According to the club chairman, Abdul Sule, he said the Queens have been charged complete the double over Pelican Stars-who they defeated 1-0 courtesy of Ifeoma Polinus' 88th strike in the first leg in Calabar- to wrap season.

Sule has however called on the teaming fans of the club as well as supporters and followers of women Football around to come and cheers the New Direction Queens to victory on Wednesday by identifying with the club's blue or yellow jerseys.

"It has been an eventful season for the Confluence Queens, we've give a good competition this season though it may not be where we intend to be but we are happy so far so good.

"We want to make it a happy ending season that's why we want our well wishers and soccers fans in general to come and cheer us to victory against Pelican on Wednesday.

"We want them to come in numbers and paint the Confluence stadium with our traditional blue and yellow kits and we believe their presence will be an added boost for the girls to give a good account of themselves at the match," he said.

The former Super Eagles utility player added that Senior Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on Women and Children Development Honorable Sandra Musa will be special guest of honor at the match as well as other top government functionaries.

Confluence Queens are fifth on the Group B log of the apex women league in the country after garnering 17 points while a victory tomorrow could see them ending third on the log.
