Ogunnowo pleased with NLO standard


Chief Operating Officer, COO of the Nationwide League One, NLO, Shola Ogunnowo has expressed delight with the achievement recorded in the league this season. 

Ogunnowo who spoke in an interview at Lafia on Monday shortly after speaking with the principals of clubs from FCT, Benue and Niger who are vying for a spot in the NLO division. 

Ogunnowo attributed this feat to cooperation from various clubs in the league despite fund yet to be remitted by the league sponsor. 

"We are happy because we have a very smooth operation right from the commencement of season up till now, the 198 clubs have cooperated.

The COO rates the league high at eight over ten and boasted in her contribution to the second tier, top league and national team developments. 

He hails the performance of the referee in the tier as remarkable.

"13 matches in playoff, no single complaint from any venue, 2 wrongs in about 80 matches  ofcourse you won't say that's bad, Wrong decisions that not intentional from this officials won't be taken against them"

He further urged Coaches to participate in the coaching- course expected to take place next month.

On funding, the COO admitted it as challenge and hope that the sponsor would disburse anytime soon.

"we have not fulfill our promise of paying the indemnity because the sponsor are yet to remit the fund into our account but as soon as they do that we promise to refund all the money spent by all clubs" 

His final thought was on  On CHAN Eagles, He believes the 2-1 aggregate result was good considering challenges in camping important players of some clubs in the NPFL, he ended saying Nigeria will beat Cameroun in Uyo come 1st, September in a World Cup qualifying match.
