ABS Reacts to O&D Judgment, Wants Julius Atete Banned

Ahmed Abdallah, Welfare officer of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, has hailed the Nigeria Football Federation NFF's decision to award his team 3 goals and 3 points as a result of violence unleashed on his players and officials during a match day 13 of Nigeria National League, NNL encounter with J. Atete in Sapele on September 23.

Abdallah said this on Saturday in Ilorin while reacting to the judgement, saying the NFF Organising and Disciplinary Committee has shown consistency while dispensing its power in such matter.

Abdallah, who is also a National Officer of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON, urged the NFF to ban J. Atete from all football related matters completely because the team's action in the match day 13 encounter is capable of bringing the entire football system in Nigeria to disrepute.

"I think if at this stage you don't know what to do if you are aggrieved or not happy with what has happened during a game, you do not have business in football.

"How can you provide less than eight policemen for a game at that critical stage of the league.
"The non availability of security personnel for the game shows J. Atete has an hidden agenda which they later carried out.
"We complained that security be reinforced and delayed play for 14 minutes but when this was not done and to respect the rules of the game, we played under protest before they attacked us.
"If our football must grow, we must join hands together to get rid of such team like J. Atete.
"So I'm calling on the NFF, NNL and players union bodies to ensure that J. Atete is completely banned from all football related matters in the country" Abdallah said.

He add that the action of J.Atete was barbaric as they inflicted injuries on his players and officials, aside attacking match officials, beating one of them to stupor.

Abdallah reminded that same Atete caused chaos that led to the discontinuation and abandonment of the match against Crown FC which both the O&D and Appeal committee awarded 3 points to crown and fined him heavily.

"Such serial offender should be sent out of football if we must progress, hence the suggestion that he be banned" he averred.

The ABS Welfare officer, urged soccer fans in the state to keep praying for the team so it can bring them Premier League football next season.

"It is not yet time to jubilate because we still have a good side like Gateway FC to play.
"I believe in my team, we are capable of dealing with the situation but such requires the coming together of all of us in Kwara" he added.
