Celtic Football Club is set to arrive the nation’s capital city of Abuja to compete for honor and trophies at this year's Veterans Shield Football Tournament.

The team which is made up of some of the best retired but not tired legs from Minna the Niger State capital will storm Abuja later today with nothing less than winning in their mind.

Team Secretary, Mohammed Musa said his side will take other clubs by surprise as they are not in Abuja to make up them numbers rather to take the trophy back to " The Power State" as Niger State is fondly called.

“All is now set for us to arrive Abuja before noon, rest, go for our juma’at prayers and face our opponent like wounded lions. We want to leave Abuja with all maximum 4points which simply means that we will score more than 3goals”. Mohammed Musa Yaro the team’s secretary explains on a phone conversation.

Corporate Soccer Stars FC in the other hand will want to start this year’s campaign with a win ending their last year’s record of no win. They loss all two games to crash out of the maiden edition.

Losing the signature of Paul Titus to Durumi Allstars, Bako Zaphania to Ex-Professional and Cletus Leo to Allstars FC, Mpape might be a big blow to the team considering the fact that they are some of the best legs in the team last summer but Dennis Asemah – Team Manager believes otherwise.

“No doubt the three players in question are good  but I doubt if their absence will be felt, we have done a lot in fortifying our team and technically we are better now than the team that you saw last year” he explains.

The match kicks-off by 4:00 pm at the FCT Sports Complex, Area 3, Garki, Abuja. Earlier in the tournament, FCT Coaches United FC trashed Keffi Allstars 4 – 1, FC Bala Ali settled for a goal draw with Kuje Allstars FC while Bwari Allstars and Ex-Professional FC failed to score in their opening game.
