Elkanemi Keeper Wishes Injured Egwin Quick Recovery

Yekeen Kazeem, Elkanemi Warriors' goalkeeper has sent a get well soon message to Rangers' striker Ifeanyi Egwin just as denied inflicting the injury on Rangers' forward.


Both players were involved in horrific tackle that resulted into Egwin's severe injury during the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL final day encounter between champions Rangers and the Desert Warriors.

Kazeem who was sent off as a result of the tackle has also denied causing injury to Egwin just as congratulated the Flying Antelopes for winning the trophy.

"I'm really sorry for that injury on Egwin, I wish him quick recovery and I pray may God heal him fast to return to full fitness soon' begin the former Kwara United shot stopper.

 

"In as much as I want apologize for what this may have caused him, I must confess that it's wasn't a foul against me, Egwin is a very intelligent striker, he's very slippery with them ball, it was a one-on-one situation, I went for the ball but I couldn't, he jumped up to avoid me in the process, coming down he landed wrongly, when I looked up, it's a red card, I was surprised, but the injury overshadow that, it's very painful, since the start of my football career I never break person's leg, I'm a very aggressive and calculative keeper, but I never injured a player, I feel very sad and sorry for him," he said.

Rangers won the match 4-0 to claim their first major league title in 32 years.
