Shooting Stars fill Rangers' void with Osun United friendly


As part of its preparations for the 2016/2017 Nigeria National League, Osun United Football Club will play an away friendly match against Nigeria Professional Football League side, Shooting Stars Sports Club in Ibadan on Sunday February 12, 2017.


Shooting Stars fixture on the NPFL Week 8 against Rangers FC of Enugu has been shifted as the team will be far away in Algeria featuring in the CAF Champions League round of matches against Saora FC.


The Oluyole Warriors will be welcoming the Omoluabi Giants to Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba  in a friendly encounter to keep the boys sharp and in preparation for their upcoming NPFL fixtures. 


"The game against Osun United will be a good practice for my players. We are more concerned about the players remaining match-fit and injury-free," 3SC coach Fatai Amoo said.


The friendly match interestingly will also afford the new gaffer of the State of Osun financed side, Duke Udi to test his newly assembled team against a top opposition.


"We are delighted to confirm an Friendly against 3SC. The match will help the team prepare better for the crucial Nigeria National League," coach Duke Udi said.


However, the new home and away jerseys of Shooting Stars will be officially launched during the friendly game prior to it going on sale for our teeming fans across the globe. 


The gate will be flung opened in appreciation of the home support the team has enjoyed so far this season.
