United High School, Ilawe Ekiti on Friday emerged champions of the maiden edition of Phoenix Ekiti State Secondary Schools Cup.
The competition featured all the Secondary Schools in the sixteen (16) local governments in Ekiti State and it is aimed at reviving School Sports.
United High School defeated Emure Model High School, Emure Ekiti 3-0 at the Kayode Oluyemi Stadium, Ado Ekiti.
A brace from Godwin Festus and audacious strike from Oyewole Olajide secured a easy win for United High School.
United High School goes home with a giant befitting trophy and #100, 000.
However, Godwin Festus won the tourney Top scorer (7 goals) and Most Valuable Player award.
Meanwhile, Ayo Daramola High School, Ijan Ekiti defeated Ogangamodu Grammar School, Ido Ekiti 3-2 on penalties after the full-time ended 1-1 to clinched the third place contest.
