After a disappointing home draw against Plateau United last week at home, Shooting Stars will be looking for an extra push to get a decent result on the road when they visit the Pantami Stadium this weekend.
It will be one of the matches scheduled for the Match Day 13 of the NPFL against Gombe United on Sunday the 12th of March at 4pm. The 12,000 capacity stadium in Pantami will be the venue.
The Desert Scorpions are coming to the NPFL having played in the NNL for a couple of seasons but will be looking to improve their position on the log as they are placed 15th, just some steps ahead of 3SC. They won their last game at home against Ifeanyi Ubah FC which will boost their confidence going into this match.
Shooting Stars gaffer, Fatai Amoo still maintains that he sees a good future for his lads despite a string of home draws and a few away draws as well. He spoke to the 3SC Media Team just before the team left Ibadan – “We are positive going into our next match and also resolve to take it a game at a time. I have a good side that can do well in the League; it is just a matter of time before we start seeing the beauty of this team. We will get to see where the team truly belong as time goes on. We are positive”, he concludes.
The players on their part have resolved to move on from the embarrassing scenes that almost brought their Match Day 12 fixture into a fiasco. “The team spirit within the fold this season has been exceptional and we should build on that. The coach has done a lot of good work infusing youth and experience and we shall get our bearing as soon as possible. Gombe United fixture is another game we need to play with determination and hopefully we shall get a good result”; Seun Akinyemi, the team captain offered.
Shooting sits on the 18th position with 11 points from 11 games, 3 steps behind Gombe United’s 14 points from 12 matches on the NPFL log. Time is ticking and we shall be back for the Match report at the end of the game.
