The technical department of Nigeria Volleyball Federation NVBF has released the list of female national team players that will represent Nigeria at the Africa Women Nations Cup in Cameroon between 7th & 15th of October, 2017.
According to statement signed by the federation's head of media, Kehinde Lamidi, Verera Oywarone & Ebele Promise Mercy are the two foreign based players invited by Coach Usman Abdallah to fortify the team.
The team is expected to leave the shores of Nigeria on the 5th of Oct.,2017 for Cameroon.
The tournament scheduled to hold between 7th & 15th of October,2017 will determine the qualifier for the 2018 women world cup.
Nigerian team will be featuring alongside hosts, Cameroon, Algeria, Ghana & Cape Verde.
Others are Egypt, Botswana, Tunisia, Chad, Congo DR, Kenya, Zambia & Senegal.
Speaking with journalists after Monday's training session at the indoor sports hall of Abuja National stadium, Head coach, Usman Abdalah said Nigeria is parading youthful & energetic players whom he believed are capable to do the nation proud by winning the ticket for the 2018 women's world cup.
The President of the Federation, Eng Musa Nimrod who lauded the efforts and sincerity of the technical department in the selection process charged the players and coaches to be good ambassadors of Nigeria.
Nimrod said he is confident on the team winning a world cup ticket in Cameroon having done well in the previous qualifiers just as promised the federation's continued support for the team till the dream of winning the world cup ticket is realised.
