Adeyemo calls for Tornadoes' focus

Niger Tornadoes' vice captain Bolaji Adeyemo has urged his side to put the recent 3-1 defeat to Lobi Stars behind them and focus on getting back to winning ways in their next fixture.

Coach Erasmus Onuh' men were holding Lobi Stars to 1-1 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi in the Matchday 5 of the NPFL before goalkeeper Terkaa Melai failed to deal with Samad Kadiri's soft volley to restore Lobi's lead at half time.

The Ikon Allah Boys came out with improved performance in the second half as they kept searching for the equalizer but fell behind against as Sunday Akinmoladun failed to clear Ebube Duru's cross into the box which allowed Samad getting his brace and Lobi's third goal of the match.

The defeat means Tornadoes recorded a back to back defeats after their Matchday four home loss to Akwa United and dropped down to 13th on the log.

Adeyemo who was angry and frustrated with the result against Lobi explained that loss of concentration in defense cost Tornadoes a chance to salvage at least a point.

The midfielder however charged his team mates to get over the defeat as quickly as possible and focus on the challenges ahead as he admitted that the club is taking shape under new coach.

"It was unfortunate and disappointing that we lost because we feel we could have got something here (in Makurdi)," begins Adeyemo.

"We started well and played better than our hosts even despite conceding first, then we got a needed equalizer which gave us believe but we lost concentration at some moments which cost us the results because I believe we could have got a draw or even win the match.

"That's gone now, we will not dwell much on it as we still have much games to play, we need to get back to winning form quickly.

"We are playing as a team now with more focus and we are getting used to new system and I believe we will be more stronger as we play more games with good results both home and away," he said.

Tornadoes will not be in action for the Matchday six (against Heartland) as their adopted Confluence Stadium, Lokoja will nit be available.

The 2017 Aiteo Cup runners up will then travel to Mohammed Dikko Stadium, Katsina where they will be taking on Katsina United for their Matchday seven fixture on Sunday.
