NNL Super 4: Dare Lions of Omoku tame Harmony boys

Agege Soccer Temple came alive on Sunday as Bet9ja Super four kicked off in grand style with Go Round FC of Omoku surprisingly defeated Coach John Obuh's Kwara United with a 4-2 on penalties.

United were so dominant in the first twenty minutes of the encounter making several incursions into the danger area of Go- Round.

The brilliant combination of Ismaila Gata, Michael Ohanu and Stephen Alfred kept the defense of Ngozi Elechi tutored side busy with handful of opportunities wasted by the Northern Conference leaders.

Go-Round stood gallantly at the defence and made vital inroads into the 18 yard box of the Ilorin ' Harmony Boys'  on several occasions with Azu Chile, Chukwu Morice and Onyirinba Odinaka of Go- Round  stood firm in the defence.

The restart of the proceedings saw Ogunjobi Kamoru of Go- Round lighten up the 'Dare the Lions' Omoku side  with scintillating passes from Uchenna Ezeala and Adelani Adeseun making them to edge closer to scoring in the 50 minutes of the encounter.

As the match progressed, both teams  displayed great agility, mobility and purposefullness knowing fully well that a draw will put them into straight penalties.

Go round FC were notably seen playing from the flanks making dangerous crosses but their efforts were thwarted by defensive style of John Obuh's Harmony Boys.

Aminu Kadiri was introduced by Obuh for injured Ismala Gata at the 73 minutes and this seemed to reduce their bite and power. Onigbara Akeem brought in for Stephen Alfred, and Anthony Wilson replaced Isah Mogaji to increase Kwara's fire power but to no avail.

For Go -Round FC, Coach Ngozi Elechi made two substitutions; Ukwu Obinna for Ola Atinushola, Ekunta Etenfa replaced for Adelani Adesheun.

The tension soaked encounter ended in goalless draw and the penalties went in the favour of Go- Round FC with their Goal keeper Stanley Nwanbali stopping one of the kicks.

Go Round will await the winner of the encounter between Heartland FC and Remo Stars for the final match in the   Super four

The final games of Bet9ja  NNL Super 4 comes up on Tuesday 9th January, 2018 by 4pm with the third place match holding  by 2pm.
