Adeyeye's Brace Ensure Victory for Prime

Enterprising attacker, Adeyemi Adeyeye, scored a brace as Prime Football Club secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Delta Force Football Club of Asaba, on Saturday in one of the Nigeria National League Week 10 contest.

Adeyeye inspired the 'Believe and Achieve' gladiators with a brace at the Oshogbo Township Stadium, a win that catapulted the team to third on the log with 15 points.

In the opening twenty minutes of play, both sides had opportunities at goal to no avail, gaining some spell of attacking pressure, knocking the ball around with some pace and intent.

The opener arrived in the 36th minute when Adeyemi Adeyeye nods home Olabisi Olagunju's right side cross and that triggered Delta Force to attack the home team.

Delta Force pacy winger, Yomi Olaoke forced Ayo Ojo, to a brilliant save from a close range after capitalising on a defensive blunder.

The first half of the highly entertaining encounter ended 1-0 in favour of the Omoluabi Giants.

Delta Force talisman Obi Samson, who was silent in the first half then burst to life in the 48 minutes. The skillful lad dribble pass three Prime defenders and his low drive shot cut Ayo Ojo, napping.

The introduction of Damola Fakayode, Lekan Oseolohun and Wale Oyewo, gave Prime more attacking force as pressure was on Delta Force defence line before Nworie Fabian, handle the ball in box and the referee, Giwa Muiz, signalled a penalty.

Adeyeye completed his brace in the 62nd minutes as he stepped up and send Isah Ismail, the wrong way to send the mammoth fans at the Stadium into wide jubilation.

         
Delta Force almost got an equalizer late in the game but three of their players failed to tap in a well tailored left side cross.

“I'm very happy to score twice and help my club win a difficult game. We will continue to work hard and hopefully, we will make our fans happy at the end of the season,” Adeyeye told PRIME FC MEDIA.

Adeyeye has now scored five goals for Prime FC this season.

Prime will next weekend welcome Remo Stars in one of the NNL Week 11 encounter at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
