Metro Pro League Race Reaches Climax


The Metro Pro league title race comes to an end tomorrow as Remo Stars U19 team face Nat Boys of Lagos in a title winning deciding match.
The Sky Blue Stars Juniors tutored by Daniel Ogunmodede currently top the league table with 33 points, leading second place team, Nat Boys with 2 points as both team face off tomorrow at the Agege Stadium Lagos by 4pm.
Previous meetings has seen the juniors secured 4 points from a possible 6, wining the first encounter 4-1 and playing out a 0-0 draw in the second leg as both team remain the most consistent teams in the league this season.
Striker Ibeh Nnamdi tops the goalscorers chat with 19 goals in 15 matches. Going into this encounter he will be the key man in ensuring the Juniors clinch their first league title in the metro pro league after losing out to Union Bank in the first debut season.
Coach Dainel Ogunmodede has expressed confidence in his lads delivering the first league title for the club.
"We remain focused and confident as ever, we play more as a team and that has been our greatest weapon playing in the league and that won't change going into the last league match of the season
"We are going into the game against Nat Boys with confidence and we want to dominate the game because when we have the ball we have the liberty of expressing yourself and creating opportunities to score while we remain responsible at the back."
Asked if he is under any pressure to deliver the title
"The round leather games comes with the pressure of wining cause is a competitive game so we play with the mindset of wining and enjoying ourselves, every time i set my team out in any game.
"The fans enjoy and derive joy from the way we play football so we also have to enjoy ourselves while we play but most importantly win the game and eventually become champions."
