Pillar of Sports Task NFF,LMC on Ifeanyi Ubah FC.

                                                             (Ifeanyi Ubah FC)

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, has described the proprietor of new Glo Premier League side,Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah as epitome of modern football who should be encouraged in his quest to re-package professional clubside in Nigeria even as he tasked both the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and League Management Committee, LMC to enhance enabing environment for the club to stand the test of time.

Pillar of Sports in Nigeria, Chief Ejidike made the remark in a statement signed by the Chairman, Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Prince Olayioye Ajide on the need to introduce new dimensions into the Nigerian Professional league clubsides.

Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike noted that Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah should be commended, emulated and encouraged by the Nigerian football ruling authorities to attract other private individuals and companies that may wish to own a professional clubside.

Nigeria Pillar of Sports said: ‘It takes a heart of a lion at this period of economic turn-down and serious financial crisis in the country for anyone to embark on sponsorship of a professional clubside considering the colossal amount of money required to put such a club on the right pedestal’.

Ejidike noted that Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah is currently constructing a private stadium; perhaps, first of its kind aside from the Rojenny Stadium in Oba; he as well gave brand new cars to coaches while the players enjoy robust emoluments.

“Even government-owned clubs are not regularly and adequately paid which distinguishes Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah as not only outstanding but patriotic and committed to the development of game of football in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Pillar Pillar of Sports recalled with nostalgic feelings how private clubs like the Abiola Babes, Leventis United, Stationery Stores, Iwuanyanwu FC, JIB Rocks, Mighty Jets and several others went into oblivion as a result of ineffective policies and non-conducive environment to make them thrive and flourish.

“If Ifeanyi Ubah FC survives the test of time and becomes profitable, surely, many business men and private companies and individuals would invest in the Nigerian League by owing a club. This is very important because Dr. Ubah is spending his personal money to contribute and develop the round leather game in Nigeria”. Sounded Ejidike.

He however assured that he will give his own financial support to private clubs like Ifeanyi Ubah FC to encourage him.
