#NPFLFinalDay17 Preview: Remo Stars vs Sunshine Stars

The Final Day Fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) are upon us as Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) welcomes fellow Southerner, Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure to the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu on Saturday, 9th September, 2017.

The final few games of the season have proved difficult tasks for the Remo Stars, having been relegated from the league in the late weeks of last month.

At times Fatai Osho's men have shown glimpse of resistance, especially when the likes of Victor Mbaoma, Ochowechi Salefu, Ekene Awazie, Chidume Victor and Saheed Lasisi linked well together earlier in the season but all proved far from enough to rescue the team producing a muted slide towards the Nigeria National League (NNL).

The Sky Blue Stars will be hoping to at least give their home supporters something to remember at the end of a tumultuous campaign.

Aside the numerous defeats, most fans still have much confidence and support for the Coach and Players with their wonderful build ups and ball possessions on the field of play.

The Sky Blue Stars were frustrated in Katsina after they suffered 3-0 loss to the Chanji Boys, two goals from the penalty spot and still lucky not to concede a third goal from the same spot before Kape Frank headed finally put the icing on the cake for the host last weekend.

Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure moved steps above the relegation zone after going to the wall to shock FC Ifeanyi Ubah 4-0 in Match 37 of the NPFL to finally raise their hopes of escaping the drop in the last day of the league.

Both sides met for the first time in Match Day 18 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Akure and Thomas Adesina's strike in the 14th secured maximum points for host in front of their supporters.

The pressure will be straight back on Remo Stars to ensure a return into the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season.

The Sky Blue Stars have nothing but pride left to play for but the players will play for their future and also for the supports that have stood with the club all through the season.
