18TH NESTLE MILO BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS: KANO, BORNO LAND IN CONFLUENCE SEMI FINAL



Harmony Secondary School Lokoja, Kogi state have qualified for the semi-finals of the confluence conference at the ongoing 18th edition of Nestle Milo Secondary school Basketball Championship in Lokoja.
Kogi Girls were too strong for students of Government Girls Unity College Damaturu, as they thrashed the Yobe girls 32 points to 03.

After the one sided game, captain of Kogi, Obatoyinbo Bidemi said, "am happy we made it to the semi final, this is our first time in the championship and we lived up to expectation."

In the second match of the quarter finals, Government Secondary School Numan, Adamawa looked very promising with a convincing 33 points to 03 victory against Girls High School Gindiri, Plateau state, while Government Secondary School Jogana Kano defeated Yagai Academy Jalingo, Taraba state by 11-09 points in the next fixture.

 
In the last quarter final match fixture, it was a drab game between Bauchi and Jigawa which ended 6-0 in favour of the Bauchi girls.

The semi finals in the girls categories, will now be between Kogi and Kano state, while Adamawa will confront Bauchi.

In the Boys’ category, Kogi will play Borno while Adamawa will play Kano 10am on Wednesday at the indoor sports hall of the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

Meanwhile, Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Education, Dr Tolorunleke Sunday speaking after the match “I am affirmative that Nestle Nigeria PLC has carved a niche for itself in the development of sports in Nigeria particularly, the development of basketball.
