League Boycott: LMC Expels Giwa FC from NPFL

The League Management Company, LMC has expelled Giwa FC from 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football league, NPFL season.
This was announced today on the company's official social media platforms.

Giwa FC is in breach of #NPFL Framework & Rules for failing to honour three cumulative fixtures without acceptable reason.

Giwa FC was banished to Ilorin to play three consecutive home games after disturbances in its match day 12 game with Rangers which was not concluded in Jos.
The three fixtures, Giwa failed to honour, being in Ilorin against Wikki (MD14), Akwa Utd (MD16) and Enyimba (MD18).

Giwa FC's letter to have its game against Enyimba rescheduled failed to meet NPFL's provision requesting for a shift in game 72 hours before the said game holds.

The LMC announced that Giwa FC will pay a fine of N10million for failure to honor Enyimba game in Ilorin and also pay a fine of N250k as expenses for stadium hire, security and other logistics incurred for the match against the Peoples' Elephants.

It said Giwa FC has a right to appeal or accept this decision within 48 hours.
Consequently LMC has notified all club chairmen that Giwa FC has been expelled from the NPFL, adding that matches involving Giwa FC, played or unplayed, have been suspended without prejudice to the final determination of the matter on the club's failure to honour the game against Enyimba.

LMC has also said all clubs that have played Giwa FC to date will be fairly compensated in proportional basis just as it revealed to review the matter of registered players currently contracted to Giwa FC as they will also forfeit all monetary earnings due to it this season from the LMC.

Giwa FC had earlier written the LMC on its reason to reject it's banishment to Ilorin believing that the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee of the Amaju Pinnick led NFF lack power to decide on its abrupt match against Rangers Int'l as the board had been sacked by the High Court in Jos.
