2016 AFCON Beach Soccer: Ejor names Nigeria squad


Ahead of the 2016 AFCON Beach Soccer slated for Lagos, Nigeria between Dec 13th-18th, Nigeria Beach soccer team coach Audu Adamu Ejor has picked 12 players that will represent the country at the epic event.

The team is led by beach soccer veterans Isiaka Olawale and Ogbonaya Okemiri.

Coach Adamu Emory stated that there were no prejudice in players selection and all players selected merited their position in the team. 

The team comprises two goalkeepers: Godwin Anyalogu (Kwara United) and Godwin Tale (Lokoja FC).

The defenders are Ogbonaya Okemmiri (Abia Warriors FC), Igudia Godspower (Akwa United), Tale Victor (Bassa United), Owheferia Emmanuel (Owibeseb FC) and Lukman Ibrahim (Kada Beach Soccer).

Strikers include Olawale Isiaka (Elkanemi Warriors), Abu Azeez (Enyimba International), Ogbonna Emeka (Leads United FC), Suleiman Ogodo (Ifeanyi Uba FC) and Badmus Babatunde (Owibeseb FC).

The Super Sand Eagles have positioned in group A alongside Egypt, Ghana and Cote D'ivoire while the defending champion Madagascar will confronts Libya, Morocco and Senegal.

The Beach AFCON will serve as Africa’s qualifying event for the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup taking place in Bahamas.
