Lasisi relishes new life with Remo Stars

Newly reacquainted Remo Stars' midfielder, Saheed Lasisi has disclosed readiness for the new Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season to kick off as he's set to make a great impression with his new side.

Lasisi returned to the Sky Blue Stars after leaving the club three seasons ago in a sojourns around the country.

The mercurial ball passer first teamed up with Kogi United with his then coach at Remo Stars, Fatai Osho in the 2013/2014 NNL season.

The graduate of Business Administration from Mashood Abiola Polytheistic, Abeokuta then moved to Gateway United in the following season but could not see out the campaign with Gateway and decided to return to Kogi United in a brief stint in the remainder of the season.

'Omo Alhaja' as Lasisi is fondly called by his team mates would further display his loyalty to coach Osho when he left Kogi United with the young tactician to Crown FC last season and made a tremendous impact for the Ajilete Warlords, especially in the Federation Cup where they controversially lost to eventual winners FC Ifeanyiubah in the semi-finals.

The Lagos born midfielder said he's ready to assist Remo Stars be a force to reckon with in the NPFL noting that clubs would find themselves to blame if they underrate them.

"I am really delighted to rejoin Remo Stars," Lasisi said. "It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to the new season in the top league in Nigeria with my teammates.

"I've learned a great deal and become a better player since I left here, I enjoyed my times with Kogi United, Gateway and Crown FC, the fans love me a lot, and life in all those places were so good but the opportunity to work with Coach Nduka Ugbade, a brilliant coach, serve the chairman (Hon Kunle Soname) again and play with some of the best young players in Nigerian league was simply too good to turn down.

"I can't wait for the new season to get started, we are in top form now, the NNL Super4 really helped to build up and get set propal, we are young team but with intelligent and good players, I'm sure clubs will want to look down on us but is at their own peril," Lasisi said.

Remo Stars will start their top flight campaign with a home game against Plateau United in Sagamu.
