Gold Cup: Lobi match not a do-or-die, says Danladi



Former Plateau United Football Club goalkeeper, Danladi Isah, has said that the semi-final match of the 4th edition of Gold Cup Pre-season Tournament between his new club, Kano Pillars and Lobi Stars Football Club is not a do-or-die affair.

Danladi who was excellent in goal for Pillars in his debut when they defeated Niger Tornadoes FC 1-0 in their final group match on Tuesday evening tagged the semi-final engagement between the Sai Masu Gida and the Pride of Benue not a do-or-die.

"Well, first we as Kano Pillars family must give thanks to God for taking us far in this ongoing Gold Cup Pre-season Tournament.

 "Talking about the semi-final clash against Lobi Stars it's never a do-or-die situation for us. It's just a football match but I must tell you this Pillars have this tradition in any game we play you must give your best to win and I believe winning is our birthright.

"Every team that came for this tournament gave their best and we all know that it's just one team that will lift the trophy at the end of the day and all the teams who are still in the tournament are all doing well but I believe we will be crowned champions at the end of it all," he concluded.

Pillars the defending champion of the country's most prestigious pre-season, earned the semi-final ticket after topping Group A with 8 points from four games will battle Group B runners up Lobi Stars at the Pitch A of the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode on Friday evening in a match that promises to be exciting and entertaining.
