NNL Super4: Remo Stars Pip Gombe Utd to claim third place spot


Three penalty saves from Chizoba Ndukwe ensured a win for Remo Stars in the third place match of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe State.
Scores was at level terms at the end of 90 minutes as both sides found the back of the net in each half and penalties was needed to determine eventual winners. 
Oche Salefu scored a beautiful goal to give the Sky Blue Stars the lead in the 41st minute after Oshobe and Opeoluwa combined well inside the box to set up Oche who calmly slot the ball home. 
The Savannah Scorpion had series of chances denied by the brilliance goalkeeping from Chizoba in the cause of the game with one almost leading to an injury.
Finally, Gombe United chance came in the 85th minute after the center referee signaled a penalty against the Sky Blue Stars when Opeoluwa mistakenly handled the ball inside his own box.
The entire 90 minutes was an interesting, nervous and entertaining encounter which ended 1-1 and thereafter headed for a penalty shootout.
Brilliant performance from Chizoba in the middle of the sticks during the penalty kick saving 3 spot kick to ensure Coach Nduka Ugbade secured the 3rd position in the Nigeria National League Super 4 Tournament.
