Chairman of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Kogi-United FC, Mallam Abdul Sule on Monday in Lokoja was Honors with an award of excellence for his outstanding contribution to the development of football and referee in the Kogi State.
At the colorful event organized by the Lokoja Referee Society to mark their End of 2015/2016 Football Season and Award Giving Ceremony, Mallam Sule was praised for continued effort in turning the state owned clubs to an admirable brands and encouragement towards referees in the state.
The award which took place at the Engee Hotels and Suites, Lokoja had in attendance, an executive member of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and Chairman Referees Appointment Committee, Alhaji Comrade Yusuf Ahmed Fresh as one of the award recipients.
Other stakeholders of Football who were decorated with an award includes Honorable Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honorable Alfa Ahmed Imam, President, Nigeria (Football) Referees Association, NRA, Alhaji Tade Azeez, Chairman, Kogi State Football Association, Alhaji Suleiman Isah Umar, his secretary Elder Augustine Ogunmola, a member of NFF's Referees Appointment Committee Elder E.D. Olokor.
Others include the secretary of Match Commissioners Appointment Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Manzo, a retired FIFA referee, Chief Donatus Mbaezue, acting Director of Sports, Kogi State Sports Council, Mr Abraham Onokutu, a former member of Kogi State House of Assembly, Honorable Mustapha Allahdey among others.
Chairman of Lokoja Referee Society, Chief Columbus Anichukwu earlier noted that the award was the society's little way to appreciate the recipients for the immense contribution towards development of refereeing in the area and Nigeria.
Mallam Sule who was elated with the award commended the society for the honor just as he promised his continued support to men with whistle and football in Kogi state and Nigeria.
