#KogiGovRace: Youth Frontiers Hail Baba Ali's Endorsement

A coalition of progressives youth under the aiges Kogi Youth Progressives Front (KYPF), has yesterday applauded leaders of the Kogi West/Central for equity and justice, for presenting Alhaji Suleimen Baba Ali a the two zones souls candidate for the August 19 governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Suleiman Baba Ali, came top in the several screening conducted by the elders committee of the zones.

The state coordinator of the group, Mr. Joshua Sanni Ozovehe, said the action taken by the eleders is heroic and a better way to chat a new course towards achieving power to the west and central part of the state.

Ozovehe, while speaking with Journalists, stressed that, the west and central senatorial districts have long been marginalized sixteen year ago by the eastern part of the state.

"We have been aggitating for this powershift, but our struggle end up been eroded by sentiment, greed, lack of commitment and sacrifice. Each time we talk about powershift, that is when you will see politician vying for governor in our zones, backing out and become running mate to somebody from the eastern part of the state.

"But from every indication, the tide has progressively changed with efforts of the elders in these two zones, by coming out with a consensus candidate after a thorough screening of aspirant,"

Commenting on the sharp reactions from other aspirants who could not make it through the screening, the KPYF coordinator, explained that, these aspirants are human beings and have the right to lament, because they have have put in much in their aspiration,  but however noted that in any race, there will always be a winner and loser.

"But it hurts me a lot when despite the facts that we are almost getting to find solution, sentiment and greed will then rear it head to disrupt. Look let me be honest honest with you, the report of the elders is very apt and no reasonable person can challenge it. The choice of Baba Ali, either we like it or not, Ali is the only person among the aspirants who have the link to the three senatorial districts that will make power shift achievable," he added.

While urging the the elders to own-up to the decision, Ozovehe, pleaded with other aspirants to shift their ground in the spirit of collective efforts towards achieving power rotation the other zones, insisting that their continuous resistance towards the elders choice, will not help the zones, but further erode the agitation.

Meanwhile, spokes person to the elders committe, Mr. Tom Adaba, in telephone conversation with Journalists, said the committee is still making efforts to calm down other aspirants, assuring that every issues will be resolved soon.
