Saraki Explains Vision for ABS FC

The new Chairman of Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club (ABS FC), Mr. Oluwaseni Saraki has pledged to break new grounds in the professional handling of the Ilorin-based Nigeria National League (NNL) side, and also do all within his reach to elevate its status.


Speaking through the spokesman of the club, Jimoh Bashir, Oluwaseni Saraki, the son of the Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who made history on Tuesday, emerging as the youngest ever Chairman of a Professional Football Club also pledged to make the club more competitive for Nigerian youths.
The club has continued to serve as a launch-pad for talented Nigerian youths since its introduction as empowerment tool by the Senate President.
Formerly known as Bukola Saraki FC, the club was acquired by the Senate President in 2011.
The club was formed in 2004, as a keep-fit platform for staff of the Government House, at the Government House open field, when Saraki was Governor of the state.
It served as avenue for recreation and leisure after week-long of office activities. The idea was initiated by Alhaji Abdul Adama, who was the pioneer Chairman of the club.
According to Oluwaseni Saraki, ‘My vision was to make the club more competitive for Nigerian youths, and also use the opportunity to encourage the coming of more privately-owned clubs in the system.
‘I want to use this opportunity to commend the stakeholders, supporters and fans for keeping faith with the club, and also urge them to step up their support for the club, so that together we can realize the set objectives’. he said.
The Law Graduate assured the officials and players of the club that all necessary incentives will be made available as at when due, as a way of bringing out the best in them.
