The media reported the meeting between Kogi West and Central Forum For Equity and Justice with former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu but failed to include Audu’s BIG question in their respective reports.
The much talked-about meeting held on Tuesday, 28th July, 2015 in Audu’s Abuja residence.
Present at the meeting were; Major General Julius.....
Olakunle Oshanupin, Ambassador Babatunde Paul Fadumiyo, Dr. David Atteh, Alhaji Yusuf Tawari, Alhaji A.G. Usman, Chief Patrick Adaba, Prof Angela Okatahi and Prof Yusuf Aliyu.
The power shift leaders sought Audu’s support for a candidate from either Kogi West or Central to fly the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag in the forthcoming governorship election in the state. They urged Audu to step down and support power-shift. The purpose of the meeting was however not met.
Audu, while addressing a large crowd of followers in Lokoja yesterday at the township stadium, revealed that he asked the power shift leaders a simple question when they visited him in his Asokoro residence. Audu said he asked them to present to him any of the current aspirants who can truly clean up the mess in the state as it is presently. This question was not answered by the visiting elders.
It is a known secret that the brightest aspirants among the current wanabees from the West and Central are intelligent but inexperienced. President Buhari’s experience is playing a major role in the cleansing going on in Nigeria at the moment. Steadily, President Buhari is gradually reforming Nigeria and return her to her place of pride. Without much noise, President Buhari has performed a Big miracle that has led to an improved allocation to states and local governments across the country. This can be verified in Kogi state as local government workers just got full salary for the first time in two years. Experience counts! Don’t forget that the same President Buhari was labelled ex-dictator during the past elections but today, we are benefiting from experience!
Among the power shift aspirants, Adinoyi Onukaba-Ojo, Rotimi Obadofin, Yaqeen Habeeb, Suleiman Baba-Ali and Yahaya Bello are bright minds with potentials for greatness but given the mess created by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last twelve years, who among these can truly salvage the situation? What are their antecedents? Have they handled similar challenges before? Wither their political structures? The questions goes on and on. No cognate experience!
However, during yesterday’s rally in Lokoja, Audu reminded all that he has just four years to be governor after which he believe the state would have been well re-structured for greatness and the issue of power shift appropriately fixed.
Audu restated his firm and unalloyed support for power shift in Kogi state.
