Arsenal Ladies Star, Oshoala Named as Childhood Club Ambassador



 2014 CAF Women's Player of the year, Asisat Oshoala, has become an official Ambassador of the Club that offered her the platform to pursue a career in football.

Looking back at the early years of her football career, when the Arsenal Ladies FC and Super Falcons attacker was looking for an avenue to showcase her talents, FC Robo offered her the opportunity to live and fulfill her dream.

Asisat Oshoala from FC Robo joined Rivers Angels from where she moved to Liverpool Ladies and later Arsenal Ladies where she currently plies her football trade.

The 2015 BBC World Player of the year has now decided to reward her primary club by accepting to be an Ambassador of FC Robo Football Club.

The move that saw Asisat become official Ambassador of FC Robo Football Club was facilitated by Tosmicom Sports Agency and UK based sports agency, Utmostt Sports Management (www.utmostt.com) whom Asisat has issued an Authorisation Mandate to open discussions with corporate sponsors with the aim of securing endorsement deals and offering brand extension platforms for her as well as for her primary club.

Segun Jegede, Managing Director of Utmostt Sports Management, one of the Sports Marketing firm tasked with re-positioning the Nigerian Women's Premier League Club, a Club reputable for producing players who have gone to feature for various National Women's Team of Nigeria said "This is a huge step for FC Robo and we commend Asisat for accepting to be an Ambassador to the club that gave her the platform to play the game.

"We have commenced pragmatic approach that will see FC Robo become a leading football club in Africa within the next few years and this step is first of the many steps that we are seeking to take to help us actualize the goals and aspirations of the club," Jegede said.

The newly appointed FC Robo Ambassador disclosed plans on development that will allow her image rights be used to promote her primary club.

“I strongly believe in the importance of female empowerment both on and off the field; giving back to the community, especially when it comes to supporting female football in Nigeria, Africa and all over the world.

"FC Robo will always have a special place in my heart as it was the club that gave me the platform to showcase my talent to the world," Arsenal Ladies star concluded.

Rasheedat Ajibade and Adebisi Hameerah both of who made the Falconets squad to campaign at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Papua New Guinea from November 13 are also products of the Mushin based football club.
