RIVERS STATE GOVT SET TO HOST RIVERS ANGELS


The Rivers State Government has concluded plans to host players and officials of Rivers Angels Football Club following their brilliant achievement at the 2016 Women’s Federation Cup final in Lagos. 

The Blue Angels defeated their South-South counterpart, Bayelsa Queens 5-3 on penalties to emerge champions for the seventh time, making them the most successful team in the competition. 

Team Manager of the club, Matilda Otuene in a chat with the club’s media manager Jessica Amadi, on Wednesday, said that the reception ceremony will hold on Friday, November 18 at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt. 

She quoted the commissioner as saying the State Government is fulfilling the promised it made during the reception of Rivers United last month 
"The state government will fulfil her promise to the players during the reception held for Rivers United," she said. 

“I have just been informed by the Commissioner for Sports, Hon Boma Iyaye that the team will be hosted this Friday,” Otuene added. 

Rivers Angels equally have an opportunity to clinch another trophy this season after they finished top of Group B in the 2016 Nigeria Women Premier League.
