Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria (Club Owners) have expressed delight over the emergence of Mallam Shehu Dikko as the recipient of the 2016 SUN sports Personality of the year award.
Mallam Shehu Dikko is the chairman of the League Management Company LMC as well as the 2nd vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF.
The recent transformation of the Elite domestic League, the Nigeria professional football League NPFL by the Shehu Dikko led LMC has made the man the toast of every football lover across the country and even beyond.
Club Owners Association in a congratulatory message to the League boss via a statement jointly signed by the chairman Barr. Isaac Danladi and the Executive Secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka, described Shehu Dikko's leadership style and administration as the best thing that had happened to the Nation's football industry both at the League and at the Federation level.
The Association described the SUN award as well deserved for Dikko whom it said had used his wealth of experience to stabilize and transform the NPFL to an enviable height.
" we join you to celebrate this honour bestowed on you, it is well deserved and it is in recognition of your outstanding leadership role in sports growth and development in Nigeria and beyond, please accept our best wishes", the statement read in part.
Club Owners charged Dikko to see the award as a call for more commitment to the development sports sector, as the reward for a good job is more job, assuring him of total support to uplift the domestic football league to a greater height.
