FIVE THINGS NASARAWA UNITED LEARN FROM FEDERATION CUP FINAL

A beautiful morning (is there anything beautiful about the morning?) to all Nasarawa United esteem fans all over the world.

We lost, yes lost against the team that was expected to win by all means in the Federation cup yesterday with the lottery of penalty kicks after it ended in a stalemate which makes the morning not that smooth for me.

Quickly let's go through the five things we learned from the match.

1.PUBLICITY: The opposition comes tops in this aspect based on how they have been silently doing their business in this regard capturing every media houses available in the country. I believe with more perly with the media guys the club fan base will tend to increase.

2. UNLUCKY : The injury to Ichull Lordson, replaced by Douglas Achiv in the 30th minutes of play changed the complexity of the game with Esosa Igbinoba's movement upfront restricted which made it difficult to get a go at the opposition goalkeeper.

3. SHAMMAH TANZE: Tayo Fabiyi disappointed not only his fans but also betrayed the trust of Coach Kabiru Dogo with his display which kept me thinking about what the 'Nigerian Ronaldo' was on the pitch. Shammah Tanze replaced him and instantly became a threat to the opposition getting close on two occasions.

What if he had started the game with Abdulrahman Bashir upfront?

3.THE SURAJ AYELESO FACTOR : The formal Kwara United goal tender came into this game full of confidence with no goal conceded he came into the finals without any pressure showing class with vision throughout the game.
A game of penalty is a lottery which can switch either way .
Before I forget, our very own Suraj Ayeleso was adjudged the 2016 Federation Cup most valuable goalkeeper (The first goalkeeper to receive the award) and I hope he gets looked in by the National team selectors.

4. KABIRU SULIAMAN DOGO IS GREAT COACH: The former ABS FC Ilorin gaffer has shown on times without number that he has the tactical onus to propel a team to greater height if given a siren environment to operate and I believe Nasarawa United marriage to Kabiru Dogo is a union made in heaven with the way he has managed to get the team play total football in an exquisite way instilling discipline within the ranks of the players effortlessly.
I will personally love the union to continue because soonest it will start to bear fruits.

5. NASARAWA UNITED : The players have effortlessly gel together understanding the philosophy of the Coach which we saw all through the season by dropping only four points at home and also playing the federation cup final for the first time in the history of the club.
I'll really love to see this same crop of players play together next season and without the distraction of any continental engagement I am pretty sure they will be one of the league contenders.

In football we win some, lose some and draw some but we lost our game which was a bitter pill to swallow but as the slogan is 'Play today, play tomorrow'.
We really wanna thank our fans and the supporters for turning out in their numbers to support us.
We will soon have  a cause to celebrate with the team.
